The Comte Armand family have owned the domaine since 1826, though it was not until 1930 when the vineyards were replanted post phylloxera – and then only the Clos des Epeneaux vineyard. The traditional intensely tannic style has been
moderated with fewer pump overs and a limited number of ‘punch-downs’. However, that said, the concentrated style of the 2016 vintage has created a collection of wines that will last and evolve for many years.
