2018 Chateau Feytit-Guillot Pomerol

Château Feytit-Guillot covers just 1.3 hectares, with seven vineyard parcels spread
across some of the appellation's most sought-after terroirs, neighbouring renowned
properties including Clos René, Château Trotanoy, Château Nénin and Château Le
Pin. The vineyard is planted predominantly to Merlot, complemented by Cabernet
Franc, with vines averaging 40 years of age.

The 2018 vintage is a blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are
harvested entirely by hand before undergoing traditional fermentation. The wine is
then matured for 14 months in French oak barrels.

Pairing Suggestions: Pairs with mushroom risotto or grilled aubergine for vegetarians, and with roast duck, slow-cooked lamb shoulder or a selection of charcuterie and mature cheeses for meat dishes.

Tasting Note: Deep garnet in the glass, this is a Pomerol that leads with freshness rather than opulence. The nose is expressive and pure: black cherry and ripe plum intertwined with delicate floral notes that lift and perfume the bouquet. On the palate, dark fruit richness is framed by refined, well-mannered tannins and subtle oak — present but never intrusive. The finish is long and beautifully balanced, with a sense of restraint and precision that sets it apart from more extravagant expressions of the appellation.
