2018 Pietas Vieilles Vignes Carignan
Carignan was the single most common vine variety planted in France until it was overtaken by Merlot at the end of the 20th C. It is still the most planted vine in the Languedoc-Roussillon but the area covered has virtually halved since the 1990s. Rich black berry flavours from 40 year old vines with warming spice undertones, the perfect easy drinking 'winter warmer' at a cracking price.
