2018 Skipskop Sauvignon Blanc, South Africa
Grown on the alluvial and broken granite soils on the edge of the small town of Napier, the Sauvignon vineyards are about as southerly and as cool as you will find in the Cape. As a result, the wine has the edginess and crisp definition of a Sauvignon from the Upper Loire in France, but with the appealing ripeness of the African sun. Refreshing with character and flavour – superb on its own, with goats cheese, or charcuterie and olives.
