2018 Broadbent Auctioneer Cabernet Sauvignon

£33.00

Michael Broadbent, the 24th Master of Wine, had a rich history in the wine business. His book Wine Tasting was the first book devoted to the taste of wine, and set the standard for how wine is tasted by professionals.

Broadbent wrote notes on over 90,000 wines, had a monthly column in Decanter magazine for 36 years, and was the founder of Christie’s wine department in 1966. The Auctioneer is a tribute to the great Michael Broadbent.

The final wine is refined, elegant, and beautifully balanced; the style of wine that made Napa Valley famous. Aged in 60% New Oak and 40% neutral barrels for 15 months.

Tasting Note: The wine is dark with aromas of cassis, plum and anise. The palate displays rich cherry and blackberry flavours with just the right amount of fresh acidity and toasty spice. Your palate is enveloped in soft, ripe, tannins, which leads to a beautifully balanced and long finish.

Broadbent Selections

Since they were founded in 1996, Broadbent Selections has been focused on family-owned wineries with personality and stories, where the wines come from the heart.

Quality and character, central to every project, is what makes a wine stand out and become worthy of the Broadbent family name.

To be selected, a wine must standout out, head and shoulders above the rest; its quality - and value - must bowl them over.

It’s been said that the difference between a good meal and a great meal is that, with the former, you finish the meal thinking, “The food was good”. With a great meal however, you think, “Life is good”. Broadbent wines gratify not just the palate, but the soul.
