2019 Benoit Badoz Jura Vin Jaune Les Roussots
Ranked among the greatest wines of France, Vin Jaune is made exclusively from the Savagnin grape variety. Planted on the blue clay soils of the Jura region, it is aged in oak barrels for 6 years and 3 months, without compensating for the evaporation of approximately one-third of the volume. A veil of yeast forms on the surface of the wine, protecting it from oxidation. It is during this long aging process that it acquires its spicy aromas of walnuts, almonds, and curry.
Vin Jaune is the emblem of the Jura region's expertise and terroir. It is a dry wine, with a unique colour and flavour.
it pairs beautifully with the most demanding dishes, poultry, cheeses, mushrooms, as well as stuffings and vegetables.
Tasting Note: Walnuts, hazelnuts, bitter almonds, toast, and spices are just some of the possible expressions of this rare wine, so characteristic of the Jura. A wine of character, intense and with a long finish.
Pairing Suggestion: Pairs beautifully with the most demanding dishes, poultry, cheeses, mushrooms, as well as stuffings and vegetables.
