The location of Valli’s Bannockburn Vineyard is only 20km from Gibbston in the Cromwell basin, but the difference in climate is responsible for creating markedly different wines.

The Bannockburn wines showcase the area's warmer climate through their darker fruits, as well as their greater density, strength and longevity, which accentuates their tannin structure; in comparison, the Gibbston wines are more focused on freshness.

The soils are also windblown loess over gravelly schist but with sandier, deeper topsoil, which allows for free draining. Climate, rather than soil, attributes to the main difference between the Gibbston and Bannockburn wines.

Tasting Note: This premier Pinot Noir offers a deep garnet colour and a subtle bouquet of floral, herbal, and fruit aromas, evident with notes of leather and loam. Similarly, the taste is composed of bright fruit, savoury flavours, and floral notes. On the palate, the silky texture leads up to a lasting and memorable finish.
