2021 Unico Zelo True Blue
True Blue is a tribute to the nation's celebrated red blends, such as Cabernet/Shiraz and Syrah/Pinot.
Grenache, rarely explored by Unico, is the principal variety here, sourced from Riverland vines planted in the 1940s. The drought-tolerant varietal contributes a powerful presence. Touriga Nacional from Langhorne Creek is next, presenting a full spectrum of ripe black fruits and black olive tapenade. Small doses of Nero D’avola, Adelaide Hills Syrah, and Montepulciano add complexity and a lively spiciness.
As patriotic as they can get, this punchy red is perfect for an old friend and a campfire. "Heeeeeyyyyyy True Blue".
