2022 Thorle Grauburgunder
The estate wines cultivated in the vineyards encircling Saulheim benefit from soils composed of limestone sediment and loess-loam layers.
After judicious selection in multiple steps, the grapes were gently trodden in the cellar and macerated in their juices for twelve hours in order to draw out an enhanced flavour profile.
65% of the must was fermented in stainless steel tanks while the remaining 35% underwent vinification in oak barrels, nourished by wild yeasts harvested from the estate's vineyards, for a duration of six weeks and bottled after five months of the lees.
Tasting Note: Aromas of yellow and exotic fruits on the nose. Soft and creamy on the palate, with a gentle spice, a continuation of those fine fruits, and an ultimately Burgundian character to its long finish. It's an experience like no other.
