2023 Domaine Benoit Badoz Côtes du Jura 'Marnes Rouge' Trousseau

£32.00

The estate's vineyards are located on the slopes of Poligny, in the "Les Roussots" and "Les Grands Roussots" plots. The subsoil is composed of sandstone and layered schistous clay, as well as limestone and Lias marl. These geological elements explain the planting choices for the different grape varieties typical of the Jura region: Savagnin, Trousseau, Poulsard, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Savagnin and Poulsard express themselves elegantly on blue marl, Trousseau and Pinot Noir on red marl, and Chardonnay on layered clay: each grape variety receives the utmost attention to enhance the terroir from which it originates.

Discover the "Trousseau à la Dame" grape variety cultivated on Les Grands Roussots terroir and its Red Marl subsoil, the ideal soil for this native grape variety. A wine of great finesse, with luscious fruit and elegant tannins.

Origin: Côtes du Jura, France

Blend: Trousseau

Domaine Badoz

Winemakers from father to son for 10 generations, Domaine Badoz is located in Poligny, in the heart of the Jura wine region. The estate's vineyards are primarily situated on the historic plots of "Les Roussots" and "Les Grands Roussots," composed of Triassic and Lias marl and schistous clay.
These are the first foothills of the Jura Mountains, home to a long tradition of characterful wines, as well as gastronomy and conviviality. The estate has been built up over generations, and Benoît took over in 2003 with the aim of maintaining a human scale, in order to care for the vines and to have maximum control over the quality of the grapes and therefore the wines. This is why he chose to manage his vineyard according to organic certification.
