2024 Cantine Povero Dianae Barbera d`Asti
The youngest and most poetic of Povero family's wines, this is Barbera made with minimum intervention. This wine a true reflection of terroir and Barbara made in its purest from. Barbera is the most classic, popular, and versatile varietal in Piedmont. The name derives from the adjective "barbarian", which means "wild", and refers to its marked acidity. Poets like Carducci and Pascoli mentioned Barbera in their works.
Tasting Note: An intense brick red hue and subtle purple reflections. Its nose reveals notes of black cherries and dates, balanced with the slightest hint of liquorice and spices. The palate is dry, warm and rich, providing an excellent food-friendly experience.
Pairing Suggestion: Italian Sausage with tagliatelle or a Mushroom risotto (both with parmesan sprinkled on top)
