2024 Tribu Maury Rouge

£13.95

A vibrant red blend of Grenache noir and Carignan that exudes small red fruit, grenadine and lively freshness.

This wine’s quick vinification and low yield deliver an intensely aromatic, easy-drinking red, that's perfect for everyday enjoyment.

Winemaking: Hand-harvested from selected young plots, the grapes undergo a brief, cool-temperature maceration and fermentation in stainless steel, followed by early bottling to retain bright fruit and supple tannins.

Pairing Suggestions: Grilled lamb chops, Bolognese or Mediterranean tapas.

Tasting Note: Intense ruby red in colour with vibrant aromas of red cherry and grenadine that gradually reveal subtle notes of spice and crushed herbs. On the palate, the wine is smooth and supple, offering a delightful interplay of fresh red fruit and gentle tannins, finishing with a clean, lively freshness that invites another sip.

Vignerons de Maury

From the unique soils of Cotes de Roussillon in Southwest France, bordered by the Mediterranean and Pyrenees. A combination of manly schist, with black marl, these nutrient thin soils encourage deep root growth resulting in intense, complex and perfumed wines. Lying in the northern foothills of the Pyrenees and just 30km inland from the Mediterranean, the tiny village of Maury boasts one of the oldest appellations in France, being established in 1936 and has cooperative viticulture at its heart. The delicious ‘Tribu’ range of three wines demonstrate how small family farmers have collaborated successfully to produce the highest quality wine possible. We are immensely proud of these Tribu wines, named after the Catalan for ‘tribe’. All the names of the farmers who have grown the grapes for these wines are on the labels.
