2024 Rusden Wildwood Cinsault

£25.00

Rusden’s Wildwood Cinsault 2024 is a light?bodied red that captures Vine Vale’s sandy terroir in a chilled?able format. It’s ideal for those seeking a delicate Australian red with Old?vine character.

Farmed on alluvial sand close to Rusden’s homestead, the Cinsault block includes rare vines dating from the 1960s. Hand?harvested fruit is fermented in small open bins.

This limited?release Cinsault is unique for its combination of musk stick aromatics and red?fruit brightness, perfect for casual drinking or adventurous wine collectors.

Winemaking: Cold soak for five days, wild yeast fermentation in stainless steel, gentle pressing and a short maturation on fine lees to retain freshness.

Pairing Suggestions: Charcuterie board, tomato and basil bruschetta, grilled halloumi with chilli jam.

Tasting Note: The nose shows pine needles, musk stick and white pepper. The palate offers raspberry, cranberry and red liquorice, all wrapped in a silky frame.

Origin: Barossa Valley, Australia

Alcohol: 12.5%

Blend: Cinsault

Rusden

Rusden Wines began as a weekend passion project in 1979 when Christine and Dennis Canute coaxed new life into a run?down Vine Vale vineyard. What started as a “hobby farm” has evolved into a hands?on family estate where each vine is coaxed back to its best through meticulous grafting and pruning. Today, Christian and Amy Canute carry forward that legacy, blending old?world Barossa grit with a fresh, experimental spirit drawn from the region’s pure white sands over red clay.

Rusden’s signature lies in balance and structure: wines that champion vineyard terroir rather than cellar wizardry. From the grafted Grenache and Shiraz in their Driftsand GSM to experimental releases like Wildwood Cinsault, every bottle tells the story of Vine Vale’s unique soils and the Canute family’s unwavering belief that quality trumps quantity.
