2025 Jeanneret Matilda & Me Rosé
Named in honour of Banjo Paterson (the chap behind Waltzing Matilda) it’s pale, fresh and properly dry, with loads of juicy red berry fruit, bright citrus and a subtle savoury edge that keeps you coming back for another glass. There’s plenty of freshness, but it’s not so delicate that it disappears alongside food — it’s just as happy with a plate of charcuterie as it is with a long, lazy afternoon in the garden.
Tasting Note: A striking and rather beautiful ruby-garnet colour, with a lovely nose of spice, redcurrant, strawberry, raspberry and rose petals. It also has a rather intriguing savoury note reminiscent of Parma ham. On the palate its full-bodied and creamy with flavours of redcurrant, cherry and strawberry. And there’s a touch of spice and a hint of savouriness. It’s really harmonious and beautifully balanced. Very smooth and luxurious.
