2016 Domaine Carlines 'en Lya' Blanc (Six Bottles)
The Chardonnay comes from the single hectare, west-facing vineyard named “En Lya.”
Ripe quince fruit abounds from the nose with hints of fresh apricots. On the pallet a dried-citrus fruit note welcomes you to the glass but quickly changes direction. Acidity more akin to fresh yoghurt than that of a lemon leads to a rich nuttiness persists on the long finish.
Drink now with a salad based on aged Comté cheese or unctuous and comforting tartiflette. Alternatively hold for a few years to develop the wonderful creamy aromas and nuttiness of the finish.
