2012 Alain Brumont Larmes Celestes
The 'tears of an angel' is what Larmes Celestes roughly translates as. When you drink this for the first time it all becomes clear; the Larmes is a late harvest sweet wine, but it has a tad more acidity than, say, a Sauternes or a Monbazillac. Its Pyrenean location and climate help keep this wine a little lighter and have less residual sugar than the better known sweet wines further north. Winemaker, Alain Brumont has become an icon in his time putting the Madiran region firmly within the world's wine map.
