Ribeira Sacra is one of the most exciting regions to emerge from Spain in recent years.
This is the very impressive Lacima (Spanish for ‘the top’), not only a reference to some of the highest altitude (700m high) and oldest vines (50-100 years old) of the vineyard but also by far the most natural and complex wine produced by this estate.
100% Mencia fermented with indigenous yeast in 500L open French oak barrels and aged another 19 months in old French oak barrels.
Enticing aromas of new tan leather, cedar wood, goji berries, black tea; and fresh raspberries and blueberries with soft sweet tannins on the finish - this is a wine to open at lunchtime and enjoy at 7pm in the evening .
