The grapes for this fine red come from 50-year-old vines planted on the En Bottiere vineyard - a particularly good site with a typical Beaujolais soil mix of clay, schist and granite. We can certainly see why Jancis got so excited about the wine. Its supple cherry and raspberry fruit makes it delicious to drink now, but its complex minerality will become more apparent with age. Hints of cinnamon mingle with the ruby fruits and firm bed of gentle Gamay tannins. 13%
