NV Champagne Germar Breton Cuvée Brut (Half)

£19.95

Germar Breton’s flagship Brut is the go-to fizz for those seeking to buy grower Champagne with a perfect balance of finesse and power. It's also hands down our bestselling bottle from the famed French region!

It’s the perfect all-rounder for both festive toasts and fine dining.

Winemaking: Blended each year from 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir drawn from five Côte des Bar villages, the grapes are all hand-harvested and pressed in the estate’s pneumatic press. Vinification is by méthode traditionnelle with stainless steel first fermentation, followed by 24 months on lees in bottle and gentle dosage addition. Dosage is set at 8 g/L to preserve purity and to deliver a signature profile of fresh citrus, toasted brioche and chalk-driven minerality.

Pairing Suggestions: Smoked salmon or scallops; poultry with creamy sauces

Tasting Note: Sumptuous golden robe, a perfumed nose of lemon, clementine and almond paste, and a round palate of apple, apricot and peach carried on fine bubbles.

Origin: Côte des Bar, Champagne, France

Alcohol: 12.0%

Blend: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

Champagne Germar Breton

The Breton family are from the very south of Champagne in the Aube, where the landscape is more Burgundian than classic Champenois.

A little more clay in the chalky soil and a few more sunshine hours give wines that are generous and approachable and, most importantly, affordable.

Modest growers who have produced grapes for centuries but have only made the Champagne wines themselves for roughly forty years. They are finding their feet, and producing wines that cause irritation to the grander names further north.
