NV Vignerons de Maury Rancio Sec

£26.00

An oxidative Grenache blanc expression aged over five years in oak for nutty, spice and amber elegance.

At 16.0% and 17 hl/ha yield, this Rancio Sec boasts remarkable depth, power and complexity.

Winemaking: Hand-selected old-vine Grenache blanc undergoes traditional high-maturity vinification, then over five years’ oxidative ageing in oak butts, bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Pairing Suggestions: Morel mushroom chicken, aged Comté, dried fruit desserts or a charcuterie plate.

Tasting Note: This deep amber wine offers an elegant bouquet of toasted nuts and sweet spice that leads into a rich and complex palate. Flavours of walnut, dried apricot and honey mingle with a subtle touch of saline minerality, creating a long, textured finish that resonates with warmth and depth.

Origin: Maury, Cotes Catalanes, France

Vignerons de Maury

From the unique soils of Cotes de Roussillon in Southwest France, bordered by the Mediterranean and Pyrenees. A combination of manly schist, with black marl, these nutrient thin soils encourage deep root growth resulting in intense, complex and perfumed wines. Lying in the northern foothills of the Pyrenees and just 30km inland from the Mediterranean, the tiny village of Maury boasts one of the oldest appellations in France, being established in 1936 and has cooperative viticulture at its heart. The delicious ‘Tribu’ range of three wines demonstrate how small family farmers have collaborated successfully to produce the highest quality wine possible. We are immensely proud of these Tribu wines, named after the Catalan for ‘tribe’. All the names of the farmers who have grown the grapes for these wines are on the labels.
