NV Niepoort Tawny Dee (Half)

NV Niepoort Tawny Dee (Half) is created from select wines from low-yielding vineyards located in the Cima Corgo zone, in the Douro Valley. The grapes are mostly foot-trodden in lagares, and the wines age for an average of three and a half years in small casks of Port wine, in the cellars of Gaia, before being bottled.

Tasting Note: With a tawny brick color, wafting scents of nuts and hints of dried fruit, this wine presents a harmonious balance of youthful fruit and a sweet undertone, all seamlessly integrated in its long and pleasurable finish.

Origin: Douro Valley, Portugal

Blend: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz

Experience the independent family business, passed successfully for five generations from one Niepoort to the next, with older and younger generations working side by side for a long period. We eagerly anticipate the sixth generation, ready for a future of close collaboration.

Dirk Niepoort, part of the fifth generation, leads the family business, following the retirement of his father, Eduard Rudolph Niepoort. Since his studies in Switzerland, Dirk has been passionate about wine and has brought innovation to the traditional Niepoort brand.

Niepoort strives to maintain its status as a "niche player" by crafting unique ports and Douro wines that blend centuries-old customs with modernity. This combination also encompasses wine from two other regions, the Bairrada and Dão, which have contributed to shaping the Douro - Bairrada - Dão triangle. The newest points in this triangle also "deliver the goods" and hold a significant place for Niepoort, as they possess immense potential by combining the rich heritage of Portugal's winemaking history with the potential for innovation.
