The NV Candover Brook Brut is a precise, mineral-driven English sparkling wine, offering floral citrus, creamy vanilla and a long, toasty finish; a benchmark for Hampshire’s chalk-grown fizz.

Candover Brook lies on a sun-soaked, south-facing slope within the family’s Preston Farm. Here, whole-bunch pressing and cold fermentation (100 percent malolactic) in temperature-controlled stainless steel retain the wine’s youthful fruit character. Aged on its lees for a minimum of 42 months, the blend combines 2018 (58 % Chardonnay, 28 % Pinot Noir, 14 % Pinot Meunier) and 2019 (40 % Chardonnay, 39 % Pinot Noir, 21 % Pinot Meunier) vintages with reserve wine.

Candover Brook Brut stands out for its extended lees-ageing, a very special feature at this price, and its awards: Best English Sparkling (Classic Blend) and Gold Trophy (96 points) at the International Wine Challenge, plus Gold (96 points) at Decanter World Wine Awards.

Tasting Note: Floral and nutty on the nose with toasted brioche; the palate shows citrus blossom, creamy vanilla and orchard fruits, finishing precise and minerally long.

Candover Brook

Candover Brook is the crown jewel of the Preston Farm estate in Hampshire’s Candover Valley, where regenerative farming and viticulture unite. Founded by Lord Sainsbury and nurtured by his sons Mark and Julian, the five-hectare, south-facing vineyard thrives on chalky subsoil and silty clay loam, at 115–135 m above sea level.
