2018 Maison Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune Blanc
Situated atop the hills of Beaune, Domaine Drouhin's 2018 Côte de Beaune Blanc originates from vines near the revered city. Not to be confused with the appellation Côte de Beaune-Villages, which is reserved for red wines made from the vines of several villages in the Côte de Beaune region (excluding Beaune itself).
This extraordinary bottle originates from Joseph Drouhin's estate in Côte de Beaune, accompanied by declassified nectar from the revered Clos des Mouche's vineyards.
Only the finest fruit was hand-picked for the final wine. Fermentation and ageing both took place in oak barrels. The proportion of new barrels is around 10%-15%. Barrel ageing of the components took 12-14 months.
Tasting Note: A heavenly, balanced vintage, its pale gold hue sparkling in the glass. Aromas of honey, almond and lemongrass (citronella) entice the nose, while nuances of toasted hazelnut and almonds emerge as it matures.
Origin: Burgundy, France
Blend: Chardonnay
