The 2019 growing season started well with budburst taking place in early April, thankfully avoiding the spring frosts. Moderately warm weather at the end of June resulted in a successful flowering and even fruit set throughout. Good weather in August encouraged consistent fruit development and cooler temperatures in September and October produced an abundance of wonderfully complex fruit balanced by beautiful acids.

Crafted from carefully selected, handpicked Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes grown at our stunning Sussex vineyards during the excellent 2019 season, the fruit was gently whole-bunch pressed and partially fermented in old Burgundian barrels. A splash of Pinot Précoce was added at disgorgement, enhancing the rose-pink hue and red berry character. Bottle-aged on lees for a minimum of 48 months.

Tasting Note: An elegant sparkling rosé from a beautifully balanced vintage. Delightful notes of wild strawberries, ripe red berries and a hint of toasted walnuts are complemented by biscuity richness and vibrant acidity, leading to a long, beautifully poised finish.
