2019 Mouchao Dom Rafael Branco
A truly delightful blend of three Portuguese white grapes: Antao Vaz, Arinto, Fernão Pires. Each plays its part to perfection.
Arinto provides citrusy freshness, while Antão Vaz adds volume, texture, and fruity character. Expertly crafted, this wine has a subtle filtering for a delicate, elegant aroma. Rich, well-drained alluvial soils around the Mouchão Dam contribute extra freshness, complexity and concentration.
Manually harvested and cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks at 15ºC for 2-4 weeks, this white is then filtered and left to mature on fine lees for another 5-6 months to create a full-bodied flavour. Low fermentation temperatures account for the fresh tropical aromas and 'secondary' tones while young.
Tasting Note: Boasting intense freshness in the mouth, this sophisticated white originates from old vines. Remarkably mineral and citric, its lively green aromas offer complexity. Showcasing a concentrated yet elegant profile, this Dom Rafael White features vibrant, ripe fruit and an exquisitely crunchy palate.
