In the medium-high areas around Monte Stefano, known as Mompirone, the soil is composed mostly of sands of marine origin, allowed the production of wines of unique quality for over 2,000 years.
Tasting Note: Aromas of loganberry, winter spice, and just a hint of game. On the palate it’s textured and flavourful, but not heavy. There’s gentle tannins, restrained berry fruit that increases when decanted. More spice that’s inviting without overwhelming. Softer than a Nebbiolo but more more substantial than a Pinot Noir – yet somehow has elements of both.
