As Skipskop’s flagship, the 2021 Petit Verdot is drawn from 25‑year‑old Napier vines and aged 3.5 years in 225 L French barriques for depth and longevity.
This Bordeaux descendant shows fresh‑claret freshness with Cape sunshine, offering dark berries, spice and an elegant Pauillac‑style cedar note.
Winemaking: Destemmed, fermented naturally, then matured 42 months in 2×225 L new and seasoned French oak barriques before bottling.
Pairing Suggestions: Ideal with char‑grilled steak, hearty cassoulet or aged Gouda to highlight its dark‑berry and peppered spice profile.
Tasting Note: Concentrated blackcurrant and blueberry merge with clove, cassis leaf and cedar, culminating in a long, savoury finish with fine grip.
