2022 Jeanneret Hill River Gewurztraminer

£16.95

A standout wine from the Clare Valley, known for its uniquely distinctive character and aromatic charm. Gewürztraminer is renowned for its vibrant and exotic bouquet, and this vintage certainly lives up to its reputation.

Picked early to retain its natural acidity, the 2022 Hill River Gewürztraminer strikes a perfect balance. The acidity provides a refreshing backbone, while the palate remains soft and slightly oily, adding to the wine's rich texture without being overly heavy. This harmony makes it an excellent choice for those who appreciate a wine that's both flavorful and well-structured.

Tasting Note: With every swirl of the glass, you'll be greeted by enticing aromas of lychee, musk, rose, and orange-skinned citrus peel. These intense and pungent aromas are a signature of Gewürztraminer, offering an olfactory experience that's both alluring and memorable. The German word "gewürz" translates to "spice," hinting at the wine's complex and fragrant profile.

Jeanneret Wines

Jeanneret Wines celebrates the beauty of the Golden Ratio and the Nautilus symbol, echoing the philosophy of their ancestor, the legendary architect Le Corbusier (Charles Jeanneret). Just as Le Corbusier sought balance and perfection, Jeanneret's vineyards and winemaking process reflect this harmony of form and function.

Founded in 1992 by the Jeanneret family, their passion for wine quickly grew from a hobby to a thriving business. Led by self-taught winemaker Ben Jeanneret, they produce wines full of flavour, best enjoyed with friends. Ben's talent has earned Jeanneret a Five Star Winery rating and the title of 'Ten Dark Horses' by Halliday.

Jeanneret's vineyards, located in the Armagh Valley of Clare, are managed with an organic philosophy to preserve the vines' integrity. For over three decades, their 60 acres have yielded exceptional Shiraz, Cabernet, and Malbec. They also collaborate with local grape growers to add depth and sophistication to their wines, ensuring each vintage is unique.
