2023 Nals Margreid Pinot Grigio Hill
The grapes for this wine come from high-altitude, clay rich sites in Alto Adige DOC in Northern Italy. The Hill Pinot Grigio vineyards stretch out across a 50-metre-tall hill to the south of Magrè.
Harvested by hand, the clarified must is fermented for around three weeks in stainless steel tanks. Before being bottled, the young wine is aged on the lees for a further five months.
Tasting Note: A pale straw yellow, beautiful depth of colour and notes of dried apricot, pink grapefruit and thyme with a distinct mineral-rich undertone. Combine with well-orchestrated, with well-defined supporting acidity and a mineral encore and you are on for a crisp, clean winner with this wine.
